When Doctor Michael Morbius (Jared Leto), finds what he believes to be a cure to the illness which has kept him from a normal life since his childhood, his first task is to prove that it is just that - a cure. But, although it's exactly what he'd hoped, he finds that it is also a lot more.
Marvel and Sony's collaborative endeavour means that Morbius will soon be swooping into cinemas to bring to life the story of a good doctor turned... bat, bringing with him a tidy connection to Spider-Man with the appearance of The Vulture (Michael Keaton).
The final trailer shows us a little more than the first when it comes to crucial easter eggs, but we see a little more of Loxias Crown (Matt Smith) who, empowered by similar bat-like abilities, will (in theory) take the centre stage as the villain Hunger.
This still fells a lot like a classic origin story, much in the same vein as Venom, so it'll be interesting to see how Morbius is received as he enters the cinematic universe.
Morbius is set to be released on 1 April.
