A Exquisite Gaming (EXG) we are eager to become a more sustainably minded and environmentally well-rounded company. We believe that the future of the environment hinges on us working together to cut the impact that we have on it, and it's because of this that we have established a plan to reduce our footprint.
Our aim is to make EXG® more sustainable by 2030, reducing our carbon footprint by various means including packaging, materials and more. This means we need to develop news ways to continue doing what we do best in a more ecological way.
We started taking steps towards this in November 2020 when we updated our packaging to remove all excess plastic, reducing it by 20%, and have now also removed the cables from our products in an effort to further support our efforts - something we aim to continue doing throughout the year. Over the duration of this timeline, we aim to work on the sustainability of our products and to continue working to offset our carbon footprint on the planet, all whilst positively contributing to a number of projects which benefit the socio-economic communities impacted by non-sustainable consumption.
Looking further into the future we will also be releasing annual plans - as well as 2-5 year and 5-10 year plans - all of which will ensure that we meet our sustainability goals.
We're working to ensure that our products not only stand the test of time, but that we offset as much of the environmental impact made when creating them as possible.
Becoming Plastic Neutral
5 -10 Years
10 Years & Beyond
We’ve officially launched our new and improved, premium packaging.
Not only can you now touch and test the product, but the pack itself also uses less materials and plastic in an ongoing effort to reduce waste.
We have integrated Shop Pay into your shopping experience to help in the reduction of the impact of our deliveries.
With every Shop Pay purchase the carbon footprint of each delivery is calculated and off-set, whilst also supporting initiatives such as the WeForest project to fund the restoration of 1,000 hectares of the Casamance mangroves.
SHOP PAY PLANTS TREES
With our customers often already having their own cables for specific items, it feels like this is an element that can be reduced from potentially going to landfill.
To further support other ecological projects, we aim to give customers the option to donate the cost of the cable to an environmental project instead.
REMOVAL OF CABLES
We've officially partnered with the Products of Change community to discover better ways of incorporating sustainable methods to our processes.
With their main aim being to create an open space to discover new sustainable options for product creation, we hope that this will educate and develop our own understandings around sustainability.
One Tree Planted is an initiative which plants trees around the world to help offset a business's carbon footprint. As part of our ongoing sustainability strategy, we're donating a percentage of sales to help restore damaged ecosystems, stabilise soil, support the water cycle by growing trees, whilst also giving you the option to do so when purchasing an item online.
Most Cable Guy owners keep or share their products, usually passing them on to friends or family when no long in use. We aim to continue to inspire and help all of our customers to pass along the Cable Guys they aren’t using – keeping them in circulation and out of landfills.
HAVE YOUR SAY
The need for change within eCommerce is clear, and we're passionate about making positive changes within our business to become more sustainable.
We still feel that we have a long way to go until we become Carbon Neutral, but we understand what is required to make a positive impact and are ready to make this happen.
Of course, progress won't happen overnight, but we're implementing plans over the next decade and beyond that'll help us to be as kind to the planet as we can be.
If you'd like to contribute with any ideas of how we can make this happen, let us know by emailing us below.
