It's been almost 13(!) years since the first instalment of James Cameron's Avatar first hit cinemas and, though a lot may have changed in that time, the enthusiasm and love for the world he created still remains.
With its trailer emerging from the depths of spring 2022, the first teaser for Avatar: The Way of the Water has hit fans right in the feels by merely using a combination of stunning visuals, one line of dialogue and incredibly atmospheric music.
Not only does the trailer deliver when it comes to the overall ethereal feel of life in Pandora, the music, which has been composed by Simon Franglen, who also assisted the late James Horner in the first film, brings an overall meditative mood to this relatively calm, water focused trailer.
As well as the pure vibes we get from the settings and composition overall, it's also great to finally get a look into just who it is that's made the cut into the second movie, as well as the new characters set to feature in the story of Pandora. Among the stunning new watery landscape we're introduced to Javier 'Spider' Scorro - Jack (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri's (Zoe Saldaña) adoptive son - and his siblings, Neteyam, Lo'ac and little Tuktirey, alongside the reef people, or Metkayina, led by Tonowari (Cliff Curtis).
On the flipside (or dark-side, if you will) resident bad guy duo Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang) and Corporal Lyle Wainfleet (Mark Gerald) have returned from the clasps of death, and are seemingly ready to cause more chaos in this new film too.
Alongside these additions new and old, there'll be many other characters, landscapes and visuals to enjoy in this film, some of which we're hoping will be revealed in its next trailer.
