Everyone can remember their first ever gaming experience on a fresh, new Xbox, playing Halo for the first time - the vibrant green X emblazoned on our screens, later set to become an icon within the gaming world. Since then, 20 years since its release, Halo has moved from strength to strength, capturing the hearts of gamers young and old in the process.
Starting with Halo: Combat Evolved, the franchise has gone on to have 16 games in total, with only eight thought to be part of the same canon, with the other eight being seen as spin-offs to the main storyline.
Since its release in 2001 it's estimated that 81 million Halo games have been sold, and with fans literally the world over, this feels like a truly global celebration.
Coinciding with its 20th anniversary year, the latest instalment in the Halo franchise, Halo Infinite, is set to be released 8 December, and it's exciting to see exactly how far we've come on this great adventure with Master Chief and his fellow troops.
Much has changed over the years, including Cortana's evolution from a swish purple assistant to a cool, blue characterful member of the team, and we're excited to see just where this fantastic game will take us next.
