DC Fan Dome 2021 Highlights

It was a busy weekend for DC last weekend with the DC FanDome showcasing the best of what's coming. We armed ourselves with snacks and watched all night, mesmerised by just how much was on its way.
Here are a few of the night's highlights.

Black Adam

The hype around Black Adam, which is set to hit cinemas 29 July 2022, has been immense. Featuring Dwayne Johnson in the title role, alongside Pierce Brosnan (playing Doctor Fate) and Noah Centineo (Atom Smasher).

The Batman

In many ways, the night was also a Batman extravaganza. With a new The Batman trailer showcasing Robert Pattinson as our new Batman alongside Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton cropping up in The Flash trailer, there was a Batman for every generation. We also particularly enjoyed the main cast and director's discussion on the film about how it came together.

The Flash

In development for 17 years and starring Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, this long-awaited movie will pack a punch in more ways that one. Cast alongside Miller, who also played Flash in the series, the film will feature Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton (yes, from the Tim Burton Batman movies!), both of whom shall be reprising their roles role as Batman. The film is expected to flash onto screens in November 2022.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods

It's been a while since Shazam, played by Asher Angel and Zachary Levi, last appeared on the silver screen, but it seems like it was worth the wait. With acting powerhouses Dame Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu playing villainous Gods Hespera and Calypso respectfully, we're truly excited to find out how it'll translate on the big screen on 2 June 2023.

Peacemaker

A hilarious new series from DC, it really felt as though Peacemaker starring former WWE powerhouse John Cena really grabbed a lot of attention Saturday night. Set to appear on HBO Max January 2022, it also stars Danielle Brooks (Orange Is The New Black) as Leota Adebayo, who James Gunn described as a co-lead of the series, as well as Steve Agee (New Girl) and Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgement Day), among others.

Catwoman: Hunted

We were really excited to see a preview of Catwoman: Hunted, an anime-style movie set to hit screens in 18 February 2022. It'll follow Selina Kyle, voiced by Elizabeth Gillies, as she attempts to steal princess jewels as her alter-ego, Catwoman.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

We have to be honest here and say that this story trailer really did its job. Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang all brought the hype to the game, with a sneaky glimpse of Superman too. Let's just say that 2022 can't come soon enough.

What are you most excited for?
